Kat Sanders, artist

Hello everyone! I want to introduce myself and let you know a little bit about my "eclectic" art experience. I hope you enjoy this website!

I have had a lifelong interest in the arts and started painting by attending rosemaling classes over 40 years ago. This interest evolved through acrylics and “tole” painting techniques and has now come full circle back to oils. I also paint woodcarvings utilizing various mediums.

I achieved my certification as a Teacher of Decorative Art (TDA) and have been teaching classes in oil and acrylics for over ten years. My favorite subjects are floral arrangements and flowers as I am also an avid gardener. Most recently I started flame working and demonstrate this art in my "Bodacious Beads" booth at various art fairs, shows, and my home studio.

I am a member of Loon Country Arts, Northern Artist Association, International Society of Glass Beadmakers, and I serve on the North Country Arts & Crafts executive board.

Les Sanders, artist

Welcome to Sanders Studios! I started woodcarving over 40 years ago and recently retired so find I have more time to pursue this passion.

Although largely self-taught, over the years I have taken a broad spectrum of carving courses, classes and seminars. I enjoy carving whimsical characters and houses, also larger western and Native American busts and I have started to create split cedar flutes.

Most recently, I have taught several watercolor pencil, woodburning, and woodcarving classes through community education, North Country Arts and Crafts Workshop, and private lessons to share my knowledge.

I am a member of Loon Country Arts, Northern Artist Association, Mid-America Woodcarvers and Western & Wildlife Carving Association.
